Subconscious Behaviours That Are Holding You Back.

explores how the beliefs we accept shape our potential.

An explanation of how society has programmed us and our beliefs that are holding us back from achieving our true potential.

I want to start this article by stating a ‘truth’ or a concept ( if you don’t think this is true).

Every generation has a governing pattern or a system of beliefs that they unconsciously accept to be ‘true’ or ‘right.’ Like the witch trials and beliefs of Germans in the 1930s.

Today, we know these beliefs were wrong, but this was the ‘righteous’ thing for the people of that time.

This raises the question of if these things and beliefs programming were happening during that time, what's to stop this from happening today?

Systems and beliefs that we might think are true today turn out to be the most wronged thing we ever believe.

Now, I’m not a conspiracy theorist, but there might be a possibility.

That is what metaphysics is all about.

Questioning everything.

But talking about systems, there are plenty of ways our system shoots us down as we try to step forward.

Here are some of those:-

1. Creating our best life.

We believe that creating our best life or the key to our happiness is deciding what we want and then going after it.

But in reality, our brain is incapable of thinking about what will make us happy ( our future).

So when we are thinking about our future, we are just recreating our ideal past self.

So, When things don’t go as planned, you might feel like you failed. But you might have created something new and possibly better—your brain just labels it “bad” because it’s not what you expected or you know you were capable of doing that.

Living in the moment is the only way to live a fulfilling life without losing your sanity because it’s the only thing your brain is capable of doing.

2. Success is not the final destination.

People often view success as a final destination.

They think they will be happy or complete only if they reach there. So they keep measuring their life based on a single moment, questioning if they have made it.

Based on that moment they question whether their life feels like it's in a neat, finished state, one that would sound impressive if we summarized it for someone else.

But this approach has a huge flaw because life is always changing, and no single moment can fully capture everything we are or everything our life is.

When we get fixated on “arriving” somewhere, we end up racing toward the end of life, which is the only true finish line.

We are just rushing towards Death.

True success, then, isn't about checking off goals or arriving at a perfect ending. It's about how much you grow, learn, and evolve as you pursue your goals. The journey itself—and how you expand along the way—is what matters.

3. Our Guts Are F*cked

Our guts tell us that happiness is ‘good’ and fear and pain are 'bad'.

So, when we are learning something or investing ourselves truly into something, that will force our growth whether in mental or physical state. we reach a vulnerable state.

We are going to feel large amounts of fear.

Bad feeling does not always mean a threat or danger sometimes, it means you are doing something which is frightening and worthwhile at some time.

Fear = Interest.

5. Make your life full of Problems.

Problems are not roadblocks they are the pathway.

We should find problems to solve. why? because:

  1. Learning problem-solving is the most profitable skill anyone can ever learn.

  2. It will be relevant in the long run when other skills start to fade away.

Running into a problem forces you to think differently in order to solve it, which enhances your mental awareness

What comes in the way becomes the way.

6. Destroy the Chains of the Past.

Your past does not define who you are.

Your past only holds as much power as you allow it to. As we grow our views of the past change too.

We have countless memories, emotions and perspectives

The one we choose to focus on reflects the stage of our current mindset

Many people let the past limit them whether in the emotional stage or something else but in reality, every experience has contributed to the journey.

This does not mean glossing over painful events, but simply recalling them as acceptance as a part of a bigger picture of who you are becoming.

Learn to zoom out.

See ya in the next one.
